Now, that we have the new "Sets" feature, getting plenty of appropriate keywords entered as tags on as many current and past photos, videos and blogs is very important.
As members start building "Sets" to group like items together they will be doing searches for photos, videos and blogs on the same subject as the items they are grouping together in their "Sets'. Tags on current items and past items will help them find things.
The easier items can be found the more they will be viewed, the more they will be starred and the more they will be commented on.
So, whenever you are surfing the site looking at things, make it a habit to check the tags for the items you are looking at. If they aren't tegged enough, tag them, if you have time.
As you post new items, be sure to add all the appropriate tags you can think of for your posts.
You will also notice as you upload new items you can choose a set right there on the upload to add the items to.
NOTE: PLEASE use proper tagging. Example don't use dog as a tag on a cat photo unless the photo somehow relates to a dog. Don't use leopard as a keyword on tiger photos unless the photo somehow relates to leopards. You get the idea.
Happy Tagging To All

UPDATE Added August 1, 2010:
Regarding adding items to sets (photos, blogs, videos etc). As you surf the sight or look through you own stuff you will see right under the photo, video or blog post by where you use the star rating thing, there is a link that says, "Add To Set", click that and choose a set to add things to.
You can create new sets for whatever subjects you want to.
So, again as you surf if you have the extra time to do so added appropriate tags to items you like and then add them into sets.
ORIGINAL POST BELOW
To explain 'sets':
In the menu above where you can click to see blogs, videos, members, photos etc there is now a link there that says sets. When you click on it you can then look to the left and click on Create a Set. You can then type in a keyword and choose to search all media on the site or just your media etc. That will bring up everything using that keyword. You can choose to add items to a set.
This will be useful for example:
If you wanted to make a set called Snow leopards. You could add all media about snow leopards. Then when someone wanted to view snow leopard stuff they could go to the snow leopard set to see a lot of snow leopard posts instead of searching for snow leopard items one by one.
Now when you post a new item you can choose to create a new set or to add the item to an existing set. It is simply a tool for helping group like items together.
A set can be any subject you choose and you can add any media you want to a set.
Hope everyone enjoys this new feature.
Hello to All,
A little news to share with you.
1. A second person has joined in helping keep the spammers off this site. HURRAY!! Hopefully, this will result in less spammers getting through. In the past year and half we have been getting hit heavily everyday with spammers. Most of the spammers get removed before any of the members even see them. However, there have been times the spammers got ahead of us.
2. The points feature has been removed. Some members were expressing concerns that when doing searches the fact that the points were giving members 'animal' levels it was causing problems with their searches. So for the time being the points system feature has been disabled. I would be happy to hear everyone's views on this issue so a decision that pleases everyone can be made.
3. Next item is that I have been working my way through several of the older profiles that appear to be unused and am disabling those. If one gets disabled that you think should not be, please please let me know so it can be re-enabled.
4. For those of you who put out so much effort welcoming new members, would it be beneficial to you if each day when I finish removing spammers if I drop you an inbox message so you can then welcome new members that are less likely to be spammers? If that will help avoid your time being wasted, let me know and I will setup a daily inbox send to let you know when spammer removal is done for the morning.
5. Please feel free to let me know of any suggestions that will help make this site more enjoyable for you.
6. NEW FEATURE ADDED: You can now group your posts together in 'sets'. Let me know if you like this feature or not.
This is one of those ridiculous but true stories. Arsenic, the deadly poison and known carcinogen, is an allowed ingredient in some animal feed. Please read and tell the FDA to completely ban the use of arsenic in animal feed.
The Alliance for Natural Health reports that last December, the Center for Food Safety and the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy filed a petition with the FDA asking for the removal of arsenic-containing compounds used in animal feeds. "Most arsenic-containing animal feed additives are not used to treat sickness. Instead, these additives are commonly used in poultry production to induce faster weight gain and give the meat a healthy-looking color; the same techniques are used to a lesser extent in turkeys and hogs." http://www.anh-usa.org/urgent-action-alert-tell-fda-to-ban-arsenic-in-animal-feed/
In 2006, the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy published a startling paper titled "Playing Chicken, Avoiding Arsenic in your Meat". While the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) claims that none or very little of the arsenic put into chicken feed makes its way into the meat, this organization tested raw chicken purchased from supermarkets and fried chicken purchased from fast food chains. They found that most uncooked chicken products (55%) contained "detectable arsenic" and many fast food chicken "carried some detectable arsenic" as well. (This is a very fascinating and well written report - you can read it here: http://www.iatp.org/iatp/publications.cfm?accountID=421&refID=80529)
There is no available information of arsenic levels in chicken meat used in pet foods. Because many pets eat a chicken based food, and eat that food every day of their life (unlike humans who might only consume chicken two or three times a week), this is a huge concern for pet owners. If a pet food does or does not contain arsenic would depend on the chicken producer the pet food company purchases from. My guess would be few (if any) pet food companies tests for arsenic levels in their chicken or chicken meal. However again, considering many pets eat a chicken based pet food day in and day out for years, this should be a consideration for all conscientious pet food companies. So if 'you' (pet food companies) are listening out there, please test for arsenic levels and provide those test results on your website.
For pet owners that feed raw or home cooked with chicken, the above Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy paper lists the raw chicken companies they tested and levels of arsenic found.
This is the last picture of brutus before he past on may 17,2010. The thing is he is with porsha and they don't usually get along so I had to get the picture. So glad I did.
