Thanks to our local Wal-Mart, our big cats will be enjoying pumpkins for the next couple of weeks. This type of enrichment is always a welcome treat for them. Watch as they attack their innocent pumpkin victims!
Shadow, our talking cougar, passed away on 10/02/08. Everyone who visited him at Big Cat Rescue in Tampa will remember him since he never had a guest or keeper come by that he didn't speak to. Though our big boy is gone, his big voice never will be. We will hear him and speak for him, as well as all captive wildlife, forever. This video was made as a memorial to Shadow. We will miss him so much, as will Sugar, his lifelong companion. R.I.P. Shadow
We have 14 Leopards living at Big Cat Rescue, snow leopards, black leopards and golden leopards. Supposedly the smartest of the big cats and definitely the most fun! Take a look at our leopards in action or not in some cases, if you would like more information about Big Cat Rescue and what we are working towards visit:

It is amazing what the love of wild animals will inspire us to do. Watch as we work hard to make life in captivity more bearable for those who, afterall, deserve freedom.
I created this video a few days ago when one morning I was adding big cat news to my website till I saw a article about tigers may be the first to vanish. I thought I would create a video of one.
I have a clip with Harrison Ford and a link to a petition about new rules being purposed in Florida. http://capwiz.com/bigcatrescue/issues/alert/?alertid=11494671&type=CU
And here is a news article about 'Tigers may be the first to vanish'

Imagine...It's the night of a full moon and you are groping through the underbrush in the wilds of a Florida forest when you hear the roar of lions and tigers so close you can almost feel their hot breath! Armed with only a flashlight you continue on at the urging of your guide and notice that you are the main attraction to all the wild animals living at Big Cat Rescue. You see hundreds of glowing eyes, all focused on you and as you pass the enclosures you hear the rushing of the great cats as they make a pounce for you in the dark. You'll hear the roaring of tigers, the screaming of cougars and the caterwauling of bobcats, lynx and more as you try to get back to the safety of your car. It's an adrenaline rush to turn the tables and become the hunted rather than the hunter. It's an experience you will remember and talk about for years to come.

Florida's softshell turtles are being killed at an alarming rate- twenty per day per trapper!
Their meat is usually shipped straight to China, where the turtle populations have long been depleted by the medicine and soup industries.
Because it takes ten years for a single one of these turtles to grow up, this hunt is unsustainable.
PLEASE write Gov. Crist and tell him to
promote laws that save this incredible animal. His email is: charlie.crist@myflorida.gov :)
This nation(spain) is just disgrace to human race
