2009 Fur Ball Radio Spot
I caught Cookie the tiger roaring tonight on my cell phone. Have a listen.
s is one great song, which I dedicated as a tribute to animals that need a voice!
I fell in love with this song a long time ago, It is so beautiful and the message is so inspiring I wanted to share it.
Each and everone of us can make a difference in the world.
You must always remember
Life can be a challenge
Life can seem impossible
It's never easy when so much is on the line
But you can make a difference
With courage you can set things right
The gift to dream and make dreams real
Is yours and mine
The power of one
Begins with believing
It starts in the heart
Then flows through the soul
And changes the world
Imagine how life will be
When we stand in unity
Each of us holds the key
To the power of one
Each of us is chosen
There's a mission just for you
Just look inside you'll be surprised
What you can do
The power of one
Begins with believing
It starts in the heart
Then flows through the soul
And changes the world
Imagine how life will be
When we stand in unity
Each of us holds the key
To the power of one
And one by one
We can make the world a much better place
The power of one
Begins with believing
It starts in the heart
Then flows through the soul
And changes the world
Imagine how life will be
When we stand in unity
Each of us holds the key
It's inside of you and me
Each of us holds the key
To the power of one
Enjoy :)
Risin'up back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
(Chorus)
It's the Eye of the Tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin'up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all
with the Eye of the Tiger
Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds until we take to the street
For we kill with the skill to survive
(Repeat Chorus)
Risin'up straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive
It's the Eye of the Tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin'up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all
with the Eye of the Tiger
The Eye of the Tiger
The Eye of the Tiger
The Eye of the Tiger
The Eye of the Tiger

Lion Sound
A mountain lion attacked a horse in the La Cresta area west of Murrieta, the second such equestrian attack in the Inland area this week, a state Department of Fish and Game wildlife biologist determined Friday. Julie Brussel said she noticed her yearling Arabian filly Madam had scratches to her head, body and leg when she went to check on her Tuesday. Brussel said the attack must have happened the previous night. "The baby was just cut to ribbons," Brussel said. The brown horse was with her mother in an open field at the far end of Brussel's 6-acre property on Vista De Montanas in La Cresta when she was attacked. Wildlife biologist Kevin Brennan, of the state Department of Fish and Game, confirmed that a mountain lion caused the injuries to the horse in La Cresta. Brennan also confirmed a mountain lion attack on a 24-year-old horse in Cherry Valley earlier this week. Brennan said mountain lions rarely attack horses, and he has never seen two attacks in one week. Brussel has been boarding her horses in a sturdy barn near her house since the attack but she said Madam remains nervous. "They are always going to be close to me now," Brussel said of her three horses. Brennan issued Brussel a permit to kill the mountain lion following a state law that allows people to kill a wild animal if it destroys their property. But Brussel said she will try to keep the mountain lion away with floodlights and might shoot into the ground near it to scare it if it returns. In the past four or five years Brennan has seen one such attack a year. Another mountain lion killed a goat that belonged to Brussel's neighbor in summer 2007, Brennan said. Brennan said having two mountain lion attacks in one week was a fluke and said it does not indicate that such incidents are increasing. He said mountain lions are most likely to attack dogs, sheep and goats in the foothills near the wilderness where mountain lions' habitat and housing developments meet. http://www.pe.com/localnews/inland/stories/PE_News_Local_W_horse28.489c842.html
Officers in a Glendale Police Department helicopter saw the "large lion" sunning itself in a clearing in the mountains last Sunday, said Senior Park Ranger Eric Grossman. He said it was the first cougar sighting of the year.
Signs and fliers will be posted by the city at locations such as Deukmejian Wilderness Park and Brand Park, and the city has notified the State Fish and Game Department, Grossman said.
Mountain lions are a natural part of the region's environment and usually hunt alone at night, normally preying upon large animals such as deer, according to Grossman.
Generally, mountain lions are calm, quiet and elusive, he said, noting that an adult male's home range can span more than 100 square miles, while an adult female has a range between 20 and 60 square miles.
Mountain lions are generally tawny colored with black-tipped ears and tail. Adult males may be 8 feet long from nose to end of tail and generally weigh between 130 and 150 pounds, while full-grown females can be 7 feet long and weigh 65 to 90 pounds.
