    • BIG CAT RESCUE proudly presents… SUMMER CAMP 2009 (for ages 8-15) And now introducing… YOUNG ADULT EXPEDITION (For ages 16-18) HERE BIG CAT RESCUE’S SUMMER CAMP 2009 !!! Have one wild time on your summer vacation! SUMMER CAMP for ages 8 to 15 - AN ADVENTURE TO REMEMBER! Children 8 to 15 years old are invited to explore the great outdoors with 130+ big cats of every size, color and purrsonality. While participating in educational activities campers enjoy meeting lions, tigers, leopards and many other felines. Join us for outdoor exploration on our 45 acre campus while learning about animal habitats, diets, adaptations and conservation. Interactive learning opportunities include diet preparation, scavenger hunts and keeper demonstrations of feedings and behavioral training with the cats. Campers need to wear tennis shoes and clothes that can get dirty. They need to bring suntan lotion, bug repellent, a rain poncho, drinking water, a snack and lunch. Class size is limited to ensure a quality experience for each camper, so don’t miss out! Each class is designed and overseen by a certified teacher, and staffed by two or more adults. The summer camp experience is only $190.00 per camper for each 4-day session. Three different session topics will be offered with “Big Cat Tracking Academy”, “So, You Want to Be An Animal Keeper?” and “Modern Conservationist” on the agenda for this summer season. Young Adult Expedition is offered for three day sessions, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with the bonus option to attend our Keeper and Feeding Tours (a $150 value at no additional cost).     • Big Cat Rescue wins the People's Choice Award for the 3rd year in a row!  The People's Choice Award was likened to the American Idol of the Non Profit World by host Jack Harris at the WEDU event on Jan. 15, 2009.  This was an online voting contest that resulted in more than 50,000 votes cast for 90 non profits in a 16 county viewing area.  Thanks to all of our wonderful supporters, Big Cat Rescue was voted the People's Choice in 2006, 2007 and 2008!   • I have two cats. One six year old dilute Calico, named Kallie...but, not because she's a Calico....it's a long story, I also have a three year old domestic medium hair...she resembles a Nebelung greatly...her name is Chairwoman Mao. Both of my cats I purchased a the Humane Society.

  • When my alarm goes off, my kitties all gather on the bed with me...Well, those that weren't already there in the first place LOL 3 - 4 of them are usually sleeping with me when I wake up. The rest are someplace nearby, and come running for their morning snuggles.
